Rock Band Accessories – PS3 & Xbox 360

So whether you’re totally tone deaf like me or a budding rock star you will love the new game for Xbox 360 and PS3 called Rock Band from the market leading games publisher Electronic Arts (EA).

The PS3 version launches later in the year, but the recent launch of the 360 version went down a storm and with some great accessories available you can change your living room or bedroom into a stage and treat your fans to a realistic show!

At £39.89 it’s a sensible price for a game that will last and last. I guarantee this will be a big seller at Christmas.

As for the accessories there are;

Band in a Box – £114.99 - which is a little bit steep for every gamer, but it does come with mic, hub, drum kit and guitar. Although early feedback on the hub is it is poor quality. Which is just as well there is a standalone hub, you still need the game with this kit.

Rock Band Hub – £17.89 – http://www.tgrav.com/ProductDetails.aspx?prodid=6073&catid=25 – this will link upto 4 USB devices and is therefore essential.

There are a few guitars out there for the upcoming PS3 game, but no 3rd party for the 360, so you have to buy - at £59.89

If you decide against the Band in a Box, which I strongly advise, then you need the drum kit - which retails for £69.89

A must have is the drum silencers as the sound from the hitting the drums without them is dreadful, sounds really tinny and not very rock n’ roll – only £13.89 it’s in budget – http://www.tgrav.com/ProductDetails.aspx?prodid=6095&catid=25

I am sure there will be accessories after launch and there are some others from MadCatz, but they are not match for the PDP products or the official one from EA.

So Rock Band has finally been released for the great Nintendo Wii. But with the Wii lacking the graphical ability of the PS3 and Xbox360 is the game going to be able to compete?

In my opinion, the PS2 and Wii versions are more comparable than to try and compare the Nintendo Wii with a PS3 or Xbox360.

Graphics:

Obviously, the Wii isn’t known for it’s amazing Graphics, it is al about the fun-ness and playability. The graphics are OK on this particular release though as it is not a graphic-intensive release. However, the one video of the band in the background gets tiresome, and the fun of being able to see your own amusing personalised characters was great fun on 360 and PS3 however this feature is not included.

Online:

This is the major downside to the Wii’s release of Rock Band, there is no Online play at all. Which sucks.

Features:

It does ave many features in common with the releases on the other platforms however it lacks most of the customization options which made the 360 and PS3 releases fun. However, it still let’s you and 3 friends create a band and rock-out,which is the whole point in this game, right?

Game Components:

The box includes: A microphone, Guitar, and Drum Kit. (A second Guitar is available for Bass Riff’s etc. at an extra cost). These are all connected through a USB hub which is included that plugs into the Wii’s USB slot. The Drum set is now White on the Wii release and the “skins” feel bouncier and more responsive. All the Hardware feel great and is very similar to the other releases of the game’s hardware.

Music and Soundtrack:

Rock Band’s tracklist features a great mix of songs that includes classic rock, punk, ’80s rock, alternative, and modern rock. Extra tracks are not available for download like on the Xbox and PS3 releases. However, you can purchase a CD that has 20 bonus tracks on that were available for download on the other platforms. Most of the songs are performed by the original artists, though there are a few covers. There’s music from the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, KISS, Bon Jovi, R.E.M., The Who, Weezer, Stone Temple Pilots, Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Soundgarden, and many more. There are a total of 63 songs, 5 more than in previous releases. The five new songs are:
The Police – Roxanne
The B-52′s – Roam
All-American Rejects – Dirty Little Secret
Oasis’ – Don’t Look Back in Anger (One of my personal favorites!)
The Ramones – Rockaway Beach

Summary:

Thanks to do stripped down feature lists, and the lack of online gaming. (Not to mention the 7 month delay behind the Xbox and PS3) The Nintendo Wii release of Rock Band is not the best on the market. However, this doesn’t mean it isn’t a great, fun, playable game, because it really is. Whether there is just you or half of your town round, you can have great fun rocking-out to a really good music list.

My Rating:

7/10

Rock Band Downloading

Ready to rock out with a fantastic Guitar Hero title? Follow these safe steps to find maximum enjoyment and game downloading.

Rock Band is the guitar game for those who wish to play with a full band. Rock Band offers drums and vocals , as well as bass and lead guitar. Players play concerts together and try to earn points towards great stuff , like new guitars and stage clothes. In order to be a super star rock band , the players must achieve a certain percentage of points. If your band mate messes up too much, its up to you to save ‘em and get them back in the game. When any member fails to make it all the way through the song, the band as a whole fails. Then the Rock Band has to start all over. Its a unique concept all the way around. And many are searching the Internet in hopes of downloading the latest tracks and newest Rock Band titles.

If you want to download Rock Band for the Wii you have to join a share site. These share sites offer great support that allows you and millions of others to download Wii Rock Band to your Wii safely and legally. The best way to find a safe site is to know what to look for. I have researched enough sites to know the difference in good and bad Wii Downloads.

The good ones offer 24 hour support. The tech support teams are responsible for checking out the Wii Downloadable files and make sure there are no harmful viruses. Having a good support team is key to a great site. If you want to download Rock Band Wii, than its best to choose a site that has a paid tech team. Since all legal download sites must be paid sites, you might as well pick one that is safe. There are never any monthly fee’s and the service is outstanding. Plus you will have access to all downloads through a software program.

Safe sites will offer you software that makes downloading Rock Band a cinch. But, before you sign up and start downloading Rock Band, make sure the sofwtare is compatible with your computer. They usually always are , but its best to be safe.

Only Use Sponsored Download Sites

All good share sites want to be verified by larger , more well known software companies. The best companies are “Cnet” , “PC Magazine”,  and “Tucow”. The reason they are sought after for their reccomendations is because they do not offer their support to just anyone. Their name is what makes them trusted software sites on the Internet, and they will avoid tarnishing it at all costs.

For a list of sites that fall into these safe categories check out the link below.

The Nintendo Wii raised the bar when it comes to interactivity. The physical aspect gives you a whole new dimension of immersion in games, a new order of reality. But the Wii has cornered the market in the childish, family fun style games. With Rock Band, the Xbox 360 is back in the game, and with a bang. Wannabe rock and rollers can really get a feel for what it’s like to up on stage, in front of the adoring crowd.

You can, if you want to, pick an instrument and play solo, or have a jam session with others through Xbox live. But this thing really comes to life when you get your mates around to form a band. The complete set up comes with everything you need to rule the world. Lead guitar and bass guitar, a drum kit with four drum pads and a base bin pedal and, of course, a microphone to belt out those rock anthems.

The first thing is for each of you to choose your characters and give them personality with suitably over the top clothes and hairstyles. Next you’ll need a name for the outfit, a big, bad one. Now you are ready to prepare for stardom. New tracks are becoming available all the time from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, to add to what is already available. Choose wisely and you could be onto a winner.

Rock Band will guide you on what notes to play. For the singer, it is just like karaoke, with the words scrolling across the screen. As you sing, you get feedback on the pitch of your voice on the screen. The more you all hit the right notes, the louder the music gets and the more the crowd get behind you. The stage lights go wild and the joint starts jumping. Hit a bum note and you bring the score down.

If you are in the zone, each band member has the chance to go into Bonus Mode. If you all do it together, you are in Overdrive and then things really go out of control. The music and the noise of the crowd will blow your mind. With your body tingling and your senses reeling, you run off stage and grab a beer, in true rock and roll style.

The great thing is that you can’t lose. If you really hit the spot, you’ll have the crowd at your feet, baying for more. But if you suck, they won’t be able to throw beer cans and ask for their money back. Speaking from experience, you don’t want to go that interactive. Or maybe you do. Something for the developers to think about! As it stands, the adrenaline rush you get is real enough.

This is the ultimate party game and the ultimate Xbox 360 game. If there is a rock and roll bone in your body, you just can’t help getting hooked into it. Get out of your dull existence and take a trip to rock and roll heaven. If you have ever stood in somebody’s garage, plucking tentatively at a guitar and dreaming of what might be, don’t dream any longer. Just jump right in and experience it for real.

Profits Go to Groups Providing Solutions

Sugar Grove, IL: Truth On Earth, a socially conscious, progressive teen rock band for the ages, recently announced the release of new original music to further their fight of world problems. Using the power of song and the universal language of music, this unique band helps raise awareness and money for worthy charities fighting world problems. By combining entertainment with philanthropy, they provide a benefit to both those in need and those who contribute.

The band name, lyrical messages and powerful world-changing mission are based upon the work of Mohandas (Mahatma) Gandhi, one of the greatest spiritual leaders of all time and the basis of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Civil Rights movement. Gandhi said that Peace could best be achieved through truth and non-violent protest and he proved it for a time by causing the end of a century of British rule over India. One small man had a giant influence. So the band is named in Gandhi’s honor to carry on his work and ideals through the universal language of music to a struggling planet.

The band’s main goal is to raise consciousness, through the universal language of music, to a level where, over time, everyone can become part of the solution. The end result and vision is that problems can be fixed and the planet can be left in a condition that is free of destruction and makes it worth inheriting by future generations.

Truth on Earth’s music has been described as refreshing, highly creative, electrifying and a throwback to early 70′s rock. This unique sound blends with progressive songwriting about world issues to appeal to those with the same social conscience.

These young women have committed their lives to fixing the problems of the planet so future generations will have a, “planet worth inheriting.” Their philanthropic spirit combined with their exceptional musical talents results in a contribution of nearly three quarters of their proceeds to worldly charities.

Listeners cannot only enjoy the sound of Truth on Earth but can choose one of many worthwhile causes to donate to, at http://www.truthonearthband.com

These young women are devoting their lives to doing whatever they can to bring awareness and solutions to many world problems, in the spirit of Gandhi. They want to be pro-active, on the front lines, connecting people through the universal language of music. “We have all seen devastating pictures of abuse, starvation, homeless, effects of war….., but never have been unified with music in a way, until now, that reaches the listener’s core level, creating feelings that pictures alone can’t and that allows for the proper contribution,” states the band members.

About Truth on Earth:

Truth On Earth is a progressive rock band featuring three teenage sisters that blends the sounds of old and new, heavily influenced by ’60′s & ’70′s rock. They write, produce and sing original songs about major issues in the world that require the attention of all. Their mission is, “to unite people across the globe, with music, to take action to create a better world so future generations will have a planet worth inheriting.”

They are available for performance, interviews and charitable appearances and can be contacted through their website, www.truthonearthband.com or email, truth@truthonearthband.com.
