With a price tag under £60 there is no doubt that the Epson SX405 in affordable in terms of it purchase price, but an inkjet printer’s price tag is only half the story when it comes to how much it actual costs. The increase in the cost of printer ink cartridges in recent years has made running costs of inkjet printers just as important as there price tags. Epson SX405 ink cartridges cost £30 which seems expensive compared to the low cost of the printer itself but when you compare it to the competitors its reasonable. However, if you really want to save money and get some real value for money there are compatible Epson ink cartridges available for the SX405 and they cost £15 a set. Performance figures and functionality of the SX405 look impressive on paper and this translates in the real world as well with excellent quality prints for all types of documents thank to the 5760 x 1440dpi resolution. A new addition for the SX405 is a built-in 6cm LCD screen which coupled with the SX405’s memory card reader enables you to print photos directly from a memory card or if you have a compatible digital camera from the PictBridge connection. The SX405 has a fully functional A4 scanner built into it which is hard to believe when you first see the device in the flesh because its some compact. The device mages this because the scanner has a very shallow slim line design but this doesn’t effect its performance as it produces amazing detail and can scan anything from a basic sketch to a high resolution photo print. It also comes with software for improving old tried photos and breathing new life into them. The photo copier is another function that doesn’t require a PC in order to function and produces great copies efficiently. The SX405 is a solid performer in all areas and will make a good addition to anyone’s home office.

Queen Songs.
In this dim and distant past, there was a popular music rock band called Queen. This short article is dedicated to all who played those fantastic Queen Songs. Freddie Mercury, Brain May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon, which if I remember correctly was the bands line up in 1971.
While doing a little research on the internet, I discovered they had a grand total of 39 songs on the original vinyl records. Of course the one that anyone worth their salt knows is Queen Bohemian Rhapsody. Others which stand out are, We Will Rock You, Killer Queen and Dont Stop Me Now.
With the band starting out at the end of the 1960\\\’s, they seemed to find their legs when Freddie Mercury started to front the band and sang lead. The album which seem to bring Queen recognition, was the album \\\’Sheer Heart Attack\\\’,released in 1974 and in 1975 the album \\\’A Night at The Opera\\\’.
A little history on the band. 1968/9 -1973. Brian May,Tim Staffell joined up with drummer Roger Taylor to form a band called \\\’Smile\\\’ while at London\\\’s Imperial Collage and singed to Mercury Records that year. Tim Staffell was a student at Ealing Art Collage with Farrokh Bulsara. Tim introduced Farrohk to the band and he became a great fan. Tim left to join another band called Humpy Bong, with Farrohk – later changing his name to Freddie Mercury – joined the band as the vocalist. They changed the bands name to \”Queen\”. The band did not really settle, until John Deacon joined as bass player in February 1971. There was then a period of time while the band gelled together and not until 1974 that the band hit mainstream success. The Queen 2 album witch reach number 5 in the album charts and had the lead single \\\’Seven Sea\\\’s of Rye\\\’ with reached number 10 in the UK singles chart.
Big Time.
The band third album \\\’Sheer Heart Attack\\\’ reach number 2 in the UK and sold well in Europe, going gold in US. Then the forth album \\\’A Night at The Opera\\\’ really put the band on the map. Queen songs from the album were of course the now legendary Bohemian Rhapsody and the amazing video which at the time was ground breaking visual effects. The rest as they say, is history.
Sadly Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991 and another band member John Deacon retired in 1997.

Longtime Hollywood music company, Goodnight Kiss, is conducting a search to find new songs for a 2009 record release by Cathy Kent. Sponsored by online music giant Broadjam, prizes include iPods, royalty advances, CD Players, USB Key Drives, Music Industry Books, and of course, a slot on Kent’s next record. Entrants new to Broadjam also receive a free music web site, and free help placing their music online. Entries may be entered by mail or online, and anyone is welcome to enter. There is also a special section for lyric-only entries.
The owner of Goodnight Kiss, Janet Fisher, listens to every submission. “So many times in music competitions, there are outside judges who listen to the first rounds of music. I like to hear everything that might be appropriate for my own label. Sometimes raw talent or a raw song can be honed into a brilliant, refreshingly original gem. I don’t want to miss anyone’s potential,” says Fisher. “It takes a lot of hours to go through all of the songs, but there’s no other way to make sure I don’t miss anyone’s inspired work. This year Cathy and I will both be listening to find the perfect songs for her new release.”
Goodnight Kiss has created numerous CDs from contests, including a CD about addiction, an original Christmas collection, and a CD of songs written about the military by those serving or who have served. They pay traditional real-world royalties to their writers and artists.
“One of the best parts of owning an independent company is that we are never stuck on one flavor. Each project can be individually created with unique goals in mind. Cathy is an amazing artist which makes this project very inspiring, and I love it,” says Fisher. The song contest runs through July 31, 2008.
The label is hoping to receive both up-tempo songs and ballads in the style of music that could crossover in Country, Rock, and Pop venues. When asked what specific type of songs she is looking for, artist Kent replies, “I’m looking for great, memorable crossover-country songs with interesting melodies, and surprises. Mid to up-tempo is favored for this project, but I also love great meaningful ballads. I also enjoy big powerful choruses with wide vocal range.”
Kent’s vocal range covers three octaves, so she can certainly handle the big-range material, and her songs on iTunes shows her love of melody. She continues, “As an artist, I will be singing many of these songs for years to come, so songs of substance, that have timeless, sincere messages, are what I really seek. Fun or serious, a great song is a great song!”
Fisher’s company has worked on various projects with Broadjam.com over the past nine years, and is highly impressed with their contest delivery system. She refers to the process as flawless. “Every year we discover new artists and songwriters from all sorts of places. Broadjam is key to this, as everyone from anywhere in the country or the world, can get their songs online via their delivery system.”
Besides the plethora of prizes, winners and runners up in the song contest will also receive some nice promotion via Broadjam’s news and the Goodnight Kiss Music News and their respective web sites. In addition to Broadjam.com, sponsors include The Music Registry, Celebrity Black Book, FreeEarbuds.com, and others.
